A message from your Syracuse Jo leaders Beth Broadway and Melonie Unger: Welcome to the fall/winter Little Women Club featuring the fabrics and patterns of one of our favorite designers, Jo Morton. We will learn to make six of the quilts in Jo’s newest book, Coming Home, while working with many wonderful, traditional techniques, including hand-piecing, backstitch appliqué, color theory, perfect point piecing and quilting designs for traditional quilts. Enjoy yummy snacks each night, sewing demonstrations, and discussions about Civil War history, memorabilia, music, and stories. Hope you can join us!

Meets at Calico Gals Syracuse. Saturday Samplers meet the 2nd Saturday each month at 9 am. Tuesday Samplers meet the 2nd Tuesday each month any time between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm – stop in on your lunch hour!
Receive the pattern and fabric to make one large basket block for only $10. Bring your completed block back to your meeting the following month and get your next block free! Mini basket blocks will be available for purchase each month.

Starting in August in Syracuse
Each month, for 6 months, make 12 small, snowball blocks using our pattern and beautiful civil war reproduction fabrics. Drop them off by the first and we will swap them up by the 10th. If you participated in the Mary Todd swap, you can “marry” your blocks together! They combine perfectly to form a beautiful alternate pattern and create a wonderful scrappy quilt. Each embroidery pattern is printed on 5″x 7″ cardstock, On the reverse side is Kathy’s colorful painting of the little cottage ready for you to frame and enjoy! No Unfinished Top Zanies will continue stitching, laughing and lunching through the fall and into the winter, too. NUTZ is for folks who need a push to finish up a Calico Gals class project, or who just like to sew in good company. Bring your machine and all you need to finish your project. Bring some thing to share for lunch, too: sandwich filling, salad, sweet treat, etc. Don’t forget to bring your sense of humor and show and tell! The $10 class fee per session entitles you to a class discount on purchases to finish your project of the day. Kathy Barden (the hostess and freshest nut of them all) brings homemade bread for lunch.

Syracuse Group meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 10:00 am or 6:00 pm.
Create this sensational medallion quilt one month at a time! Make 2 pieced blocks and 2 appliqué or embroidered blocks each month. Add the center medallion and pieced borders to finish the 76″x76″ nature-inspired project. Join one of the monthly groups to share your progress with others or order a monthly take-out version of the pattern.
