What a lot of fun quilts there are for babies and young kids! The colorful examples below are perfect for inquisitive youngsters.
Follow the links for free instructions.
The “I Spy” quilt, from Better Homes and Gardens All People Quilt site, recalls games of “I spy with my little eye” and features big magnifying glasses and interesting kid stuff being “magnified.” You can customize it by choosing fabrics featuring cars, construction sites, sports gear, bugs, or anything else your young “spy” has an interest in. The pattern is free but requires registration at the All People Quilt website.
“Baby’s Busy Day” quilt from TLC keeps little hands busy with squeakers, slider, pocket, a play phone, and velcro flaps.
The link on the website to the pattern is not working, so use this link instead to download the PDF.
The wild “Baby Snakes” quilt at Triangles on a Roll is a bright, adventurous addition to a child’s room. According to the website, it’s actually an adaptation of a pattern called “Snoozin’ With Snakes.” I think I like the idea of baby snakes more than the idea of taking naps with snakes!
And finally, if snakes aren’t exciting enough, how about dinosaurs! Here’s another bright, fun quilt, from BHG All People Quilt, that’s perfect for the curious kid. How many different dinosaurs can she find and name? Free pattern requires registration at BHG All People Quilt site.
Next week we’ll showcase kids’ quilts with pinks, pastels, flowers, and butterflies! See you soon!
